Any time you have the original
packaging / manuals for an item, that will markedly improve
its final sell price. Some times we've seen it double the price or more
for collectibles. If the item has been well taken care of, that helps
the price as well.
Alas, not all that glitters
is gold. After market camera equipment, gear from lower quality
manufacturers, or sub quality gear from the big name companies do not
really hold much value on the used market. Plus, gear that is heavily
used, beat up and or non functioning usually doesn't carry much demand
either. You may also consider that with the advent of digital photography,
the film camera industry is quickly going the way of the dinosaur, and
with it, the prices of that gear. Especially for professional grade
equipment, its best to get it to the market as quickly as possible while
there is still some demand.
Cleaning your items can often
go a long way in their resale value. Note though, if the item is an
old antique, then it may be damaged unless it is professionally cleaned.
When reviewing your items,
you should look at its value and ask yourself,
"Is this worth at least $25-30?"
If it is, then the Arizona
Stuff Exchange is who you should contact.
